On Singing "Even when I was eighteen and leaving for Nashville, I knew all I ever wanted to do was sing. I never sat back and thought about what I had to fall back on if this didn't work. I disregarded that whole idea."

On Song Writing "I think I've been progressively getting better at writing. I'm stronger in certain areas, like melody and ideas. But Derek's a really good lyricists, so we work well together."

On His Number-One Hit Song, "Rebecca Lynn" "I loved that song way before I recorded it. It was on one of Skip Ewing's albums. He co-wrote the song. I used to play his version of that song every morning over and over again. I was so lucky that I got the chance to record it"

On Being Satisfied "I'm never one hundred percent satisfied. I don't think I will ever be. That's what keeps me reaching. But I am at a place where I'm very content."

On His Concerts "It's great when you hear people singing along and clapping and cheering. It makes your job on stage that much easier because you know the audience is in your corner."

On His Personality "I'm never real stern about anything, I'm always pretty laid-back. I know there's a point where you have to act like a grown-up, but I'm having too much fun to feel like a grown-up right now."

On His Music "I'm learning every day. I want to grow with each record and keep things fresh. I'm not trying to go over the same territory twice, but I also don't want to be radically different. On my first album the ballads were big hits. On the second one, the faster ones were popular. The singles off the third CD were both slow and fast. I like my listeners to be entertained with a variety of music."

On Playing The Grand Ole Opry "When you play the Grand Ole Opry, you start about the history of the place and the vibe of being in the same place where so many legends performed. I love playing the Opry because they treat you like family."

On His Favorite Christmas Gift "Other than all the cool stuff my family has given me over the years, I think my favorite gift came from Steve Wariner and his wife, Caryn. One day Caryn asked me what my favorite Steve Wariner song was. I told her I loved a song he wrote called "Our Savior Is Born". When Christmas rolled around, they presented me with a frame. Caryn had framed all Steve's rough drafts of the song when he was writing it, different versions of it, with things written all over pieces of notebook paper. That isn't something I can and buy. It was a real neat gift."

On Overnight Success "There's a risk in overnight success in that you might go straight to the top and then right back down. People might not take you that seriously. You might become a novelty to them because of that. I don't think I've been so much an overnight success. I feel like I've had a stepping-stone type of career, It seems like each year and with each record things get bigger and better."

On Playing Clubs "As a teenager, I played clubs with my parents. The whole club experience actually molded me for what I'm doing now. When we travel out to these clubs whenever I'm out on the road, I feel like I've already been in some of these places before."

On His Worst Fear "My worst fear is something bad being said about me that is not true. I treat everybody exactly the way I want to be treated."

On Erika's One Life To Live Love Scenes "It doesn't bother me like probably a lot of people think it would. It's a job. And I know that when she's clocking out, I'm the onethat she still loves and wants to be around. So it's just a job and we're in a business susceptible to lots of that stuff." On His Fans "I'll be somewhere and these girls will be yelling "Oh, Bryan! Oh, Bryan!" and my band will be around me laughing. It's funny in a way, but cool, too."

On His Future "Over the years I've learned more about the recording studio and engineering and the whole production end of things. I love producing. I probably will produce in the future."
