Bryan White's First Anniversary
Bryan White and his lovely bride Erika Page celebrated their first anniversary of wedded bliss yesterday and Bryan gushes that getting hitched is the best thing that's ever happened to him. In fact, he admits that marrying Erika helped him put a lot of things in perspective. He says, quote, 'In the last year, I've really learned about what's important in life and about the kind of person I want to be. Getting married makes you realize what a selfish person you've been all your life.' Looking back on his big day, Bryan says he remembers looking at Erika as she began to walk down the aisle. He adds, quote, 'When the first note was struck on the piano and the doors opened to reveal Erika standing there -- I felt like we were the only two people in the room.' You might recall that the lovebirds kept their big day a secret until weeks later, when the details were revealed to Country Weekly magazine. Congrats you two! ~ October 15, 2001, T-100 |

Gotta Love Country Guys In Black Leather Pants
Mazel tov to Richard Marx and all his celeb pals who helped raise $84,000 Monday night for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Richard's multiartist show, dubbed the All-Star Music Bash, had quite the odd twist: During Vince Gill's set, a very modern-looking version of the Soggy Bottom Boys from O Brother Where Art Thou? hit the stage to do Man of Constant Sorrow. Richard, Michael W. Smith and Kenny Loggins came out in Soggy Bottom Boys beards and reprised the song at the Opryland Hotel. Particularly amusing: Richard made a less-than-convincing good ol' boy in his fake beard and tight black leather pants. Particularly stunning and charming: Richard's actress wife, Cynthia Rhodes (Dirty Dancing), who signed almost as many autographs as singer Bryan White, who was sitting on the front row. ~ October 3, 2001, Tennessean.com |

Now He's Better: Bryan Suffered major Depression
You're wondering: What happened to Bryan White? Is he wishing on someone else's star? Chasing Rebecca Lynn? Bryan, 27, is searching for a new record label after a year or so of what he called ''major depression,'' he told the Calgary Sun. ''The depression came from all the scrutiny, which wore me out so much. Scrutiny from the label and press and so forth — 'Why isn't he having hit records like he was?' '' Bryan said.''I couldn't please everyone and I wanted to so bad and it was killing me. I began to second-guess my voice. Every time I would step up to a mike I'd be scared to death.'' Bryan said that he, with help from actress wife Erika Page, is much better. Have you ever seen Erika? She could drag most people out of a depression. ''This year will be the year that it happens and we get going again,'' he said. ''I'm completely recharged and ... I'm ready to kick off the second chapter of my career.'' ~ August 7, 2001, Tennessean.com |

It's O-K Again, But It Wasn't For A While
Bryan White is happy to say he's fine and moving upward again -- but that wasn't the case not so long ago. White was barely out of his teens when he was named one of People magazine's '50 Most Beautiful People,' and had entire teen magazines dedicated to him. Then he grew up. And the 'So Much For Pretending,' 'Rebecca Lynn' and 'Love Is The Right Place' singer dropped out of sight. White admits he had to crash and burn before he could return to the stage. He's 27 now, and recently wed actress Erika Page of 'One Life To Live.' He tells the Calgary Sun he went through two years of suffering 'very low self-esteem and a major depression.' White credits support from friends and family, his new bride, and a renewal of his faith for his recovery. He's shopping for a new record label, and -- in his words -- is 'completely recharged and ready to kick off the second chapter" of his career. ~ August 3, 2001, WCHS-TV.com |
