ACM Week
Bryan and Erika were recently in sunny Los Angeles for the Academy of Country Music Awards. They presented the Best New Male Volcalist to Keith Urban and made us all proud by being the best looking couple there - of course we are a little biased!! While in California, it was trial by fire when they both jumped in to help the cause by learning on the job bartending. Bryan and Erika both acted as celebrity bartenders at the Cystic Fibrosis 'Singing and Slinging' event held at a popular L.A. eatery. It was a wonderful event with lots of celebs on hand having a great time and raising a TON of money for a great cause! I had a lemonade poured by none other than the new Mrs. White. ~ The White Pages, Issue Two 2001 Bryan White Fan Club

Scott Emerick Teams Up With Toby Keith to Write 'She Only Gets That Way With Me'
Scott came in with the title and said he wanted to write the song with me. We got the first verse pretty much done, and then we let it lay there for three or four months. I was already in the studio recording and had gone out to a friend's house to play basketball. Scott was there. He said, 'Do you care if I stop by your bus after the game and bring a guitar?' So he did. I'd forgotten we wrote that first little verse, and he started playing it. I said, 'I remember that! I love that!' So we started workin' on it again that night. I went into the studio the next day, and (producer James) Stroud said, 'What's next?' I grabbed a guitar and said 'This is it.' 'She Only Gets That Way With Me' is very tender. It's one of my favorites.' - Toby Keith ~ Song by Song, TobyKeith.com

Erika told us yesterday that she has turned in her notice to the soap opera, 'One Life to Live,' in order to concentrate on moving her career up to a dramatic network TV series and feature films. So, now it's time to move on,' says Page who will leave the daytime show in June after a three-year run playing the vixen, Rosanne Delgado. Bryan, now a free agent after exiting Asylum Records, will base himself out of Los Angeles (he'll maintain his home in Nashville for the time being), while he begins a concentrated period of writing and musical exploration. Bryan and Erika Got Married 'In Style'
Want to see some gorgeous, never-before-seen photos of Bryan White's October marriage to 'One Live to Live's' Erika Page? What about getting the entire scoop on the nuptials? Then pick up the new issue of InStyle magazine, which is on newsstands tomorrow. The couple confesses that neither knew much about the other at first -- but that they both felt 'something special.' 'I said, 'I really that show, 'Party of Five,'' recalls Bryan. Who was gently informed by his future wife that she was a star on 'Second Noah.' After that, it took a lot of courage and a lot of time passing before Brian got his nerve to call her and ask for a date. Lucky for him, she said yes! As for their fabulous wedding last October 14, Erika admits that the one thing that made her happiest -- other than Bryan -- were all the flowers that adorned the church and reception venue. We have three words about the happy couple's big day -- 'ooo, yum and awww.' Here's some of the lowdown: The Flowers: Florists used masses of Black Beauty, Cafi au Lait, terracotta and lavender roses mixed with peach and lavender tulips, eggplant delphiniums, wine callas, oriental lilies and orchids. The Cake: A five-tier sponge cake confection flavored with rum and Cointreau. The Vows: The bride and groom both cried while pledging to be 'loving, faithful and caring.' ~ January 18, 2001, T-100

Shriver Leaves Asylum Records
Asylum Records President Evelyn Shriver has resigned from the label, the Associated Press reports. Also exiting is A&R executive Susan Nadler. The moves come 10 months after Asylum was folded into Nashville-based Warner Bros. Records. Shriver, a former publicist for high-profile clients Randy Travis, Alan Jackson and Tammy Wynette, became the first woman president of a Nashville label when she took the Asylum post in 1998. During her tenure the label released two critically acclaimed albums -- Cold Hard Truth by George Jones and Trio II by Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt. Shriver now plans to open an independent label and has signed former O'Kanes member Jamie O'Hara, reports The Tennessean. Asylum will continue as a Warner Bros. imprint. The label's current roster includes George Jones, Kasey Chambers, Chalee Tennison, Bryan White, Lila McCann and Chad Austin. ~ January 9, 2001, Country.com
